TITULIA CITY (TNC Newswire) | LRP Candidate Renee Buchanan came in from behind in the final hours to overtake challenger Will Wilberforce (SDP). Ms. Buchanan gained a landslide of 60% of the vote (21 V) to Mr. Wilberforce’s 40% (14V). The opposition RNC has not announced any plans to work with the government nor initiate its new election. RNC Leader JP9893 (R-GOP) announced on Friday in a private conference, that he would resign as RNC Leader effective Oct 15,2010. Deputy RNC Leader Luxis Avaram (R-GOP) would become interim RNC Leader until the next election.
Cabinet
Ms. Buchanan has nominated her predecessor, Pres. TJ Norton (LRP) as Secretary of Innovation. Reg C Ambrose (LRP) will become the next Attorney General, and Dennis McVicker (I) will become Secretary of Commerce. Arts Sec. Alex Pijanowski (SDP) will keep his position.
Opposition in turmoil
RNC Leader JP9893 told a private conference he would resign as RNC Leader ,effective Oct 15. He has said he personally feels responsible for the downward spiral of the RNC and party opposition to his support of the former LRP Coalition.
The LRP announced that it would ask Deputy RNC Leader Avaram (R-GOP) to be Chief of Staff. The RNC Leadership has not released a statement.
